Exhibition Catalouge : (2022) Museum of Contemporary Art, Santiago
Longley A, Corvalán-Pinchiera M
Born out of lockdown isolation and border closures in 2020, this exhibition catalogue documents a collaborative project between New Zealand choreographer and writer alys longley and Chilean visual artist Máximo Corvalán-Pincheira. Unable to travel between Auckland and Santiago, the two artists built a shared practice from distance itself — exchanging postal art across continents and inviting over 60 artists worldwide into a series of virtual worlds and cascading performances.
Presented in bilingual Spanish/English text, the catalogue features full documentation of the project’s two episodes, Envelopes and Maps and Virtual Worlds and Cascading Performances, alongside critical essays by Catalina Mena, Linda Knight, and Janaína Moraes. QR codes link directly to video documentation throughout.
Published July 2022 with support from the Museum of Contemporary Art Santiago and the University of Auckland’s Faculty of Creative Arts and Industries.
