In the Location of Liquid Territory, hosted by the Creative Pedagogies Network at Waipapa Taumata Rau/University of Auckland, brought together artistic researchers and practitioners across two connected gatherings exploring creative pedagogy and choreographic experimentation.

The first session opened with Professor Maya Sypert (University of Hawai’i at Mānoa) and Tiaki Kerei (Whakamana Creatives, Tāmaki Makaurau), alongside Te Pūtahi Mātauranga/Faculty of Arts and Education colleagues Emma Willis, David Chisholm, Molly Mullen, Becca Wood, Sonia Fonua, and Alys Longley, presenting artistic research and provocations on creative pedagogy in today’s world.

The second session extended the network’s reach — drawing a line from Aotearoa to Hawai’i to Santiago, Chile — as dance artist Macarena Campbell-Parra and writer/dramaturg Rolando Jara arrived from the University of Chile for further studio time. This second presentation shared a development of choreographic experiments exploring liquid dramaturgy and the performative curation of fragments.
